What to Expect:

In our first session it will be important for me to find out as much as possible about your current situation and what you’d like to achieve with my coaching and/or therapy. Sometimes, if relevant, I may also have some questions about your history, family, relationships etc to understand you better. But remember, you can tell me as much as you feel comfortable sharing. Sometimes it takes time to build trust with your coach/therapist to be able to talk about some sensitive issues, and that’s OK.

I always provide a non-judgemental environment so you can feel accepted and understood; and I provide both a safe space to express your feelings, and guidance to enable you to heal yourself and to facilitate personal growth.

At the end of the first session I am going to explain to you how I would work with the issue in a coaching/therapy setting and what to expect. This will give you an opportunity to make an informed decision as to whether you would like to proceed with the sessions.

I tend to combine various approaches in my sessions that are individually tailored to your needs as throughout the years of practice I’ve noticed that a combination of different approaches and techniques can dramatically speed up progress towards your goals.

 

The Best Kept Secret in Psychology...


One particular technique that is very powerful and effective is Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, particularly one of its elements called Bilateral Stimulation.

I often call it 'the best kept secret in psychology'.

It works in a very simple way - moving your eyes in an organised way, following the therapist's instructions, allows you to activate different parts of your brain and by doing so process any unpleasant memories, past or current negative feelings, self-limiting beliefs or anxieties; all within a short period of time. This technique can also be used to strengthen any positive emotions, and in my sessions I teach my clients this technique so that they can use it themselves outside of the sessions.
